MATH-0023 - Essential Math
This non-course competency based (NCBO) developmental education intervention will provide an overview of relations and functions, inequalities, algebraic expressions and equations (absolute value, polynomial, radical, rational) with a special emphasis on linear and quadratic expressions and equations, applications of polynomial, rational, radical, exponential and logarithmic functions, and systems of equations using matrices. Additional topics such as sequences, series, probability, and conics may be included. This one-hour NCBO is intended as a companion intervention to complement materials taught in MATH 1314. Grading is based on pass/fail. A passing grade will certify a student as college ready in Math. Prerequisite: TSI Assessment Placement or Instructor Recommendation. Corequisite: MATH 1314.
