Essential Reading and Writing Strategies
This non-course competency based (NCBO) developmental education intervention facilitates the integration of critical reading and academic writing skills. This course is designed to strengthen students' reading and writing skills and prepare them to successfully complete college-level work. Students will practice critical reading and academic writing as a process that can be applied to a range of assignments, from personal and expository writing, to reading response and research-based work. This one-hour NCBO is intended as a companion intervention to complement materials taught in ENGL 1301. Grading is based on pass/fail. A passing grade will certify a student as college ready in Reading and Writing. Prerequisite: TSI Assessment Placement or Instructor Recommendation. Co-requisite: ENGL 1301.
